Covid-19 Antigen Test

About SARS-CoV-2 virus

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the strain of coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the respiratory illness responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. Those infected with the virus may be asymptomatic or develop common respiratory symptoms, including fever, cough and fatigue (other symptoms may include muscle pain, diarrhea, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, and abdominal pain). Severe patients may progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), septic shock, diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) and even death. The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020, and a pandemic on 11 March 2020.

About new Antigen test

The Antigen test is a rapid in vitro lateral flow test for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus looks for the antigen present in human nasopharynx.  Unlike nucleic acid-based tests such as PCR, which detect the presence of genetic material, antigen tests detect proteins, such as those found on the surface of a virus.

  • CE Marked for professional use
  • Point-of-Care testing no laboratory required
  • Nasopharyngeal or nasal swab only sample collection
  • Detects proteins found on the surface of a virus. The four structural proteins, known as the spike (S), envelope (E), membrane (M), and nucleocapsid (N) proteins; the N protein holds the RNA genome, and the S, E, and M proteins together create the viral envelope

  • Test time: 15 minutes
  • Specimen: Nasopharyngeal or nasal swabs
  • Storage temperature: 4° – 30°C / 39. 2°F – 86°F

  • Sensitivity: over 94%
  • Specificity: over 98.9%
  • Accuracy: over 96%
