COVID-19 Antibody Test

About SARS-CoV-2 virus

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the strain of coronavirus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the respiratory illness responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. Those infected with the virus may be asymptomatic or develop common respiratory symptoms, including fever, cough and fatigue (other symptoms may include muscle pain, diarrhea, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, and abdominal pain). Severe patients may progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), septic shock, diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) and even death. The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020, and a pandemic on 11 March 2020.

About new Antibody test

The SARS-CoV-2 Antibody test (lgG/lgM) device is a lateral flow immunoassay test. It is designed for the rapid qualitative determination of lgG and lgM antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in human whole blood, serum or plasma. Using a drop of blood mainly supplied by the person fingertip carries out the test. The Antibody test device can be a supplemental front-line rapid screening tool for symptomatic or asymptomatic carriers of the virus.
